SPORTING A FRESH CUT
ON OUR TEAM: Sporting fresh hair, Zac and Jordan Stenmark feature in our sports grooming story. Want this look? Max May gives us a ‘how to’ run down using Redken
Zac Stenmark- Set hair: I wanted to create something a little more sculpured and set. I blowed dried Redken Velvet Gelatine 07 cushioning blow dry gel through damp hair with a demand brush. blow drying the top section up at back and the side sections sweeping away from the face.
To add a little texture and to remove that fresh blowdryed look I warmed Redken Rough Clay 20 matte texturizer onto my fingers, pulling it through the ends of the hair and over the sides of the head. To set I lightly sprayed Redken Quick dry 18 hairspray.
Jordan Stenmark- Loose styling: To keep Jordan’s natural wave I lightly blow dried using my fingers, adding some Redken For Men Grip Tight holding gel into the top and side of the head while dragging the hair up and back away from face. Once The hair was dry I sprayed Redken Wax Blast 10 high impact finishing spray wax through his hair, piecing some of the ends with my fingers to get the right style and finish. Your greatest triumph to date?
I like to think I have little triumphs everyday. Every day I am learning and growing, both personally and professionally. I like to remind myself of this as much as possible as we tend to forget the good things and focus on the things we have not yet achieved or got in life.
How would you describe your personal style?
Double denim, Brown leather, Moccasins, Riding boots, Thin worn T shorts… the 1970s and 80s.
Your favourite item of clothing?
That changes all the time- from a T shirt I might find at a market or Op shop to a brown 70s leather jacket I found in Melbourne. I bought these cool Indian Moccosins at the Fairfax Markets in LA a few years back. Then there is a 70s Cuban heal riding boot I got in Mexico that I never get sick of wearing.
What will be your next purchase?
I never know that. I don’t really go out looking for something or even go shopping for that matter. Things just find me. They are always the best finds!
What is the most played song on your iTunes?
Rhiannon, by Fleetwood Mac. never get sick of it.
Tell us about the images you have picked.
These are images that inspire me which I think says alot about me and my so called style. LB and Me. Moccasins and American Indians I love, Jim Morrison- from his music to his style to his mystery I have been obssessed with him since I was a kid. Horses are my fav animal, Patti Smith and Robert Maplethorpe, do I even need to explain. Malboro man= hot, styling! My bed side table of things, I love palm tree’s and see hearts everywhere I go. I took this photo in Bali and couldn’t believe two of my favourite things had come together!! Oh how I love you Stevie Nicks! And there ought to be more dancing!!!

INTO THE BLUE
Its the Denim Blues in the latest edition of Men’s Style Australia- with grooming by Michael Brennan. Loved seeing a bit of dressed up denim- its just so easy to do- and also enjoying the fact that double denim is not over yet!
