Monday: Shares on the ASX closed higher today, the market driven by QR National’s first day of trading- Australia’s second largest IPO (raising $4.6 Billion just behind Telstra) closing 4% higher- a clear display of confidence. In other market news, Westfield announced it would sell half its interest in the Stratford City shopping complex in the UK, WDC shares closing 2.8% higher. Energy shares rose 0.7% , materials 0.4% and financials rising 0.2%. Market turnover saw 2.9 billion shares changing hands, 551 shares up, 531 shares down and 389 unchanged.
