ASX MARKET WRAP 11.10.10

Monday: Shares on the ASX closed on a five-month high in trading today- propelled by solid commodity producers. On a sector basis, materials added 1.2%, gold miners 1.1% and energy stocks rose 0.9%. Financial stocks were flat while consumer staples lost 1%. Fortescue was the best performer on the S&P/ASX 100 index, closing 7.76% higher. Market turnover amounted to 2.73 billion securities worth $4.48 billion, with 673 stocks up, 515 down and 346 unchanged.
